The Lay Advisory Board is constituted to provide lay (i.e. non-medical, non-dental) input into the work of the College, and to assist the College by contributing lay input to the work of other bodies with which we collaborate. The Lay Advisory Board also provides a pool of lay members who can serve on other medical bodies associated with the College, and can apply to become Lay Examiners for the MRCS Part B examination when vacancies arise.
Lay input provided by the Board is primarily on matters relevant to the College, but it may formulate and bring forward to the College Council position papers on matters of general importance.
The Lay Advisory Board meets at least three times each year.
The Lay Advisory Board is supported by Membership and Global Engagement. Lindsey Borthwick is the Administrator for the Lay Advisory Board and can be contacted directly via email or telephone +44 (0) 141 221 6072 extension 107.
