Biography
John Camilleri-Brennan FRCSGlasg(Gen.Surg.) graduated from the University of Malta in 1991. He underwent basic surgical training in Malta, followed by higher training in general and colorectal surgery in Dundee and Aberdeen. He was awarded a RCPSG Travelling Fellowship to the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA. His research on rectal cancer led to a doctorate from the University of Dundee.
Mr Camilleri-Brennan is currently a Consultant in General and Colorectal Surgery, colorectal cancer clinical lead and postgraduate surgical trainer with NHS Forth Valley. He is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Glasgow School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing.
He has served, within this College, as Regional Advisor/College Tutor, Regional Councillor and Associate Director of Surgical Examinations.
He is a principal investigator in a number of research projects, has published articles in major surgical journals and co-authored chapters in postgraduate surgical textbooks. He is the recipient of the William Cullen Prize from the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
