Andrew graduated from Glasgow University in 1996. He completed his Vocational Training in Fraserburgh and remained an associate in the Fraserburgh practice for 2 years. During this time Andrew undertook a part-time clinical attachment in the Oral Surgery Department of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Andrew returned home to Glasgow in 1999 and worked as an associate in a variety of NHS and private practices before opening his own practice in Knightswood in 2006. Following a fire, the practice relocated to a purpose-built facility in Yoker where it re-opened as Riverbank Dental in 2014.
Andrew has been involved in postgraduate education since 2007 when he became a Vocational Trainer and has trained almost continuously since. Andrew was appointed Vocational Training Adviser with NES in 2015 and is the current West Block Adviser. He has particular interest in the transition from undergraduate to VDP and has served on the Glasgow Undergraduate VT interface committee for 8 years. He also serves on the Admissions Committee for the BDS programme in Glasgow.
He was awarded a Diploma in Dental Primary Care from the University of Edinburgh in 2017 and gained his MFDS RCPS Glasgow in 2022.
