Biography
Dr Carol M E Tait BDS Hons, MSc, MFDS RCSEd, MRD RCSEng, FDS RCPSGlas
Carol is a Senior Lecturer and Hon Consultant in Endodontology at the University of Dundee and offers specialist endodontic treatment at Edinburgh Dental Specialists.
Dr Carol Tait graduated with honours from Dundee University in 1987 and worked in general practice before returning to academia. She obtained a research Master’s degree in Endodontics from the University of Stellenbosch in 1998 and then became a Lecturer and Honorary Specialist Registrar in Endodontics at the University of Dundee where she completed her specialist endodontic training in 2004.
Since then, she has combined specialist practice with undergraduate teaching at the University of Dundee and is also Programme Lead for a two year clinical Masters in Endodontics course which she delivers four days a week.
Her research interests are the microbiology of the endodontic biofilm and the biocompatibility endodontic materials and clinically she enjoys any challenging case.
Carol is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow without examination. She is an endodontic examiner for the English Royal College and external examiner at other institutions in the UK.
