Vicky Hyde
Biography
Victoria grew up in rural Stirlingshire. She moved to England, aged 17, to study Paper Science at UMIST; then left after a year and worked at an extensive variety of jobs. She returned to Scotland, aged 21, and has lived in Aberdeen, Camelon, Craigmillar, Inverness, and is now resident in Glasgow. She's raised 5 children, and been employed at a railway travel centre, law library, and assorted retail outlets.
Victoria trained as a CTDU Active Citizen, volunteered as an HR Director for a national third sector organisation and gained a Certificate of Higher Education in Publishing and Print Media at Edinburgh Napier University. She has been a Lay Communications Examiner for the MRCS part B for 7 years, and is now a Lay Advisor to the Examinations Board. She campaigns to raise up the lived-experience voices of those living in poverty. Preferred pronouns are she/her.
