Trainees' Committee

The role of the trainees' committee is to inform and advise the College on key issues which directly impact on trainees, and to contribute to discussions and activities around all aspects of College life.

The trainees' committee is strong and proactive with a motivated membership drawn from all grades across the specialty spectrum. Committee members work hard to engage with a multitude of bodies, committees and individuals in order to promote trainees' interests across a wide range of issues and domains.

Joining the trainees' committee is a great opportunity to become actively involved in the College and to help shape the future of medicine.

The committee has made significant contributions to a number of areas, most recently including:

  • Junior doctors contracts
  • Medical and surgical Shape of Training reforms
  • GMC and Scottish Government Duty of Candour proposals
