The Academy of Clinical Educators promotes and enhances the role of the Clinical Educator within College. ACE facilitates and supports our trainers consistently and comprehensively across all of our faculties. The College is committed to ensuring the highest standard of educational delivery and good practice. It is equally committed to supporting, mentoring, and ensuring trainer recognition for those involved in the delivery of our academic programmes, in addition to extending their trainer development opportunities.
This commitment is underpinned by an increasing sector-wide emphasis on the importance of trainer recognition - in light of the GMC trainer competency framework and new guidelines for clinical trainers. Therefore, there is no better time to highlight your trainer competencies and experience by joining our academy. The Academy of Clinical Educators will develop, support and recognise our clinical educators. It provides a quality framework and a formalised, clear and recognised process by which to construct effective working relationships with our trainers so that their trainer input is appropriately certificated and professionally rewarding. The College will support and mentor its trainers and educators to maintain a high standard of excellence in current clinical teaching practice.
Becoming part of ACE enables our trainers to access complementary CPD sessions exclusively available to ACE members; participate in CPD opportunities related to delivering good training practice; access updates on new trainer educational developments; social and networking opportunities for enhanced reflective practice and support to develop and build upon their portfolio of current teaching practice.
The ACE conference - PULSE 2019 - will take place on 15 March 2019. The conference will explore issues and challenges related to teaching principles in a clinical setting, covering: learning and teaching skills, effective communication, coaching, dealing with difficult students, and making the learner experience meaningful and engaging.View the full conference details
