We are pleased to announce the newest issue of College Voice, our membership magazine.

If you are a member of our College, you will have been emailed with a link where you can access the full content of issue 17 – alongside a range of other previous issues. A sample version is available for non-members to view.

To celebrate our College’s 425th anniversary, we’ve taken the opportunity to look back on our momentous shared history. From our establishment right up to the present day, we have long been an institution at the forefront of medical innovation – a concept this issue centres around.

Our cover showcases a painting by the tremendously talented and Vogue-featured artist Grace Payne-Kumar depicting Jamini Sen – the first female surgeon admitted to the College in 1912. An exploration of Sen’s life, from her beginnings in Basanda, West Bengal, India, to her work across Europe, is featured within the magazine.

We’ve also featured the work of five key innovators across the six centuries of our College’s history. Discover and be inspired by their innovative work – from our founder, Maister Peter Lowe, to the contemporary work of MalDent Project leader, Professor Jeremy Bagg OBE.

Ahead of our College AGM on 6 December, we have a piece from our outgoing President, Mike McKirdy, alongside a profile of the President-Elect, Hany Eteiba.

College Voice is a magazine designed to celebrate the brilliance of you, our members. If you have any feedback on any other aspect of College Voice, or if you have an idea for an article, we’d love to hear from you. Drop us an email on media@rcpsg.ac.uk.

We hope you enjoy this issue.
