How Much Does Membership Cost?

How do I Pay my Membership?

We appreciate that everyone’s circumstances are different. That’s why there are multiple ways to pay for your Membership.

Direct Debit

If you have a UK bank account, you can pay by a single or monthly direct debit.

Credit/Debit Card

You can pay using a card via your Member dashboard..

Other Payment Methods

Most Members find a direct debit the most convenient way to pay. However, if you can’t set one up or use a credit/debit card, you can also make payments via cheque, bank transfer and BACS. These methods may take longer to process and you won’t be able to access your benefits until payment clears.

Can I claim tax back on my membership fees?

If you live in the UK, your membership is a permitted deduction for tax purposes. If you need evidence for HMRC, you can download a receipt from the ‘My Receipts’ section on your Member dashboard.

Which countries count as low- or middle-income economies?

We maintain a list of countries that we consider low- or middle-income. If you live in one of these countries, you may be eligible for a reduced membership rate.

Is it possible to get a discount on membership fees?

We have a list of reasons you might be eligible for a discount. If you think you’re entitled to a discount, you should apply for it through the ‘My Membership’ section in your member dashboard.

Dr Jennifer Cathcart

Tell us about yourself

Jennifer is a gastroenterology trainee currently working in the North of Scotland. She graduated from the University of Dundee in 2014. There she undertook her foundation training and following this she spent a year working in Kagando Hospital, in a rural part of Uganda.For the next three years, Jennifer spent this working in hospitals across Glasgow before moving to Aberdeen. She was a member of the Trainees’ Committee before taking on her new role. On becoming Co-Chair (Physician), Jennifer said: “I am keen to faithfully represent trainees across Scotland and the UK. I hope to help resolve trainee issues and improve trainee satisfaction. I additionally want to promote the global nature of the College.”

Professor Abhay Rane

Tell us about yourself

Professor Abhay Rane was appointed by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in the 2014 Honours List for services to laparoscopic surgery. He has over 200 publications in several peer-reviewed journals, 6 book chapters and has edited 7 textbooks in urology; in addition, he is credited with several hundred presentations in national and international meetings. Professor Rane spearheaded the development of laparoendoscopic single site surgery (LESS) in urology; having performed the first single port nephrectomy in the world in 2007 with colleagues in India, he went on to perform the first LESS nephrectomy in Europe in 2008 at his base hospital in Surrey, England. As Course Director, he has conducted a number of British, European and North American symposia/masterclasses in laparoscopic surgery.

Making free health-care provision global; improving education quality; improving access to education globally; ensuring equality in access to training opportunities particularly for women in surgery

Miss Fiona Andrews

What matters to you?

Above all else, it's my son Austin who matters the most, he comes before any thing else. Everything I do , I do for him. From there I value our health and happiness. It matters to me that we protect those around us and this world we live in.

What motivates you?

Helping others. I am not driven by any reward, I simply want to serve those who need it the most.

If you could change anything what would it be?

For me I'd love to see real commitment to protect all in this world and live a more sustainable life , from the foods we eat, the energy we are supplied; and then in our own field : those advocating for a more sustainable oral health care system to be heard.
