Core Surgical Trainees

Having completed your Foundation Years, your Core Surgical training is time for you to refine your skills as a surgeon and complete your MRCS exams.

Lasting around two years, you will follow the Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum (ISCP). Following your completion of the ISCP and your MRCS exams, it’s likely that you will move onto specialty training.

During this time, you can support your career as an Affiliate Member of the College. This will allow you to benefit from our unique position as the UK’s only multidisciplinary Royal College. That means you network with consultants, physicians and experts in your field. Additionally, you’ll receive up to 40% off our courses and conferences that can offer you valuable CPD points.
