Following our announcement in January that the MRCS Part B and DO-HNS Part 2 examinations would not take place in February 2021, the Intercollegiate Committee for Basic Surgical Examinations (ICBSE) can now confirm that the next MRCS Part B and DO-HNS Part 2 examinations will take place in May 2021, as originally scheduled. There will be an additional MRCS Part B OSCE between Saturday 3 and Sunday 11 July 2021. This means that, as usual, there will be three diets of this examination in 2021, in May, July and October.

The May 2021 MRCS Part B (OSCE) will be delivered in-person, maintaining social distancing, and the exam format will be the same as in October 2020, as previously announced to candidates. Read more here.

We are currently accepting applications for the July 2021 diet. The closing date for applications for the MRCS Part B examination in July 2021 will be Friday 16 April 2021. Results will be published on Friday 30 July 2021. More information regarding the additional MRCS Part B diet can be found here.
