A team of walkers including College Fellows, Members and staff walked more than 300 miles over the weekend for the annual Scottish Kilt Walk. The team were supported along the way by words of encouragement and very generous donations from friends and colleagues. Together, our College community has successfully raised more than £11,000 for the Foundation.
The funds raised will be used to support projects that make a positive difference to people living in challenging circumstances where access to quality healthcare is limited. Projects that have been supported by the HOPE Foundation include the Glasgow Winter Night Shelter, the Malawi-Glasgow Laparoscopic Partnership, and the Teapot Trust for Art Therapy.
Over the weekend, our team of Kilt Walkers each completed their own personal walking challenges – all of them covering a full marathon distance of 26.2 miles on foot at various locations around Scotland. The routes covered explored vast areas of Scotland’s beautiful landscape including beaches, windfarms, mountainous trails, and city streets.
We are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported along the way, and look forward to supporting new healthcare projects with the funds raised.
Donations are still being accepted.
