Taking action

UK Physicians’ Census

We continue to work with the Royal Colleges of Physicians of Edinburgh and London to develop a comprehensive annual snapshot of the workforce challenges facing physicians across the UK. You can find the full report here.

Supporting professional activities

Our College continues to raise the issue of erosion of the healthy balance in time spent between direct clinical care and supporting professional activities with government and employers. We’ll continue to highlight this issue over the months and years to come.

Consultants’ pensions

Current pensions arrangements are having a negative impact on the retention of experienced doctors in the NHS. We’re committed to working with others to address this issue and retain consultants in the health service.
