The first Faculty of Podiatric Medicine within a UK medical Royal College was established on 11th May 2012.
We have been working closely with our colleagues in the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, in particular the College of Podiatry for a number of years and this partnership culminated in the delivery of the first Podiatric Medical Symposium in 2006 and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations in 2007.
We believe the establishment of the Faculty acknowledges the breadth and depth of Podiatric Medicine and recognises there is an opportunity to further enhance podiatric care in the United Kingdom and internationally.
The current Dean of the Faculty is Professor Robert Ashford.
