Ukraine Statement from Academy of Medical Royal Colleges

02 Mar 2022

The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges have released a short statement calling for medical professionals and others to show solidarity with people in Ukraine by donating to The Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal

As the horrific scenes unfold in Ukraine we, like many other individuals and organisations, have been thinking about what we can do to help. And while we cannot directly influence events, we can show our support in other ways. As an expression of solidarity with the people of the region we are asking members of the medical profession to give money if they can to The Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal

We do not know where this will end, but we do know there are soon likely to be thousands of people who will be in need of food, shelter and healthcare. The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges has made a donation to this important cause and we urge others to do the same.

Professor Dame Helen Stokes-Lampard, Chair, Academy of Medical Royal Colleges
