The Golden Jubilee Foundation has been recognised by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow for its role in the development of our next generation of medical doctors.

The presentation was made in recognition of the outstanding partnership between the College and the NHS Board in supporting medical students to complete their MRCP (UK) Part 2 Clinical Examination.

The Golden Jubilee Foundation is one of the Royal College’s 360 examination centres across 14 countries. In order to receive his prestigious award, a centre must either have assessed more than 90 candidates, or hosted the examination for six days or more over the last three years.

The examinations are commonly known in the medical world as PACES. (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills).

Jill Young, Chief Executive, Golden Jubilee Foundation and Dr Hany Eteiba, the foundation’s Interim Medical Director, were presented with a plaque marking the Award from David Galloway, President of RCPSG. Jill Young said:

“The Golden Jubilee Foundation is delighted to receive this award in recognition of our support and continued partnership with the Royal College.

“As an organisation dedicated to quality, research and innovation, it is important for us to support the next generation of medical staff.”

Dr Eteiba added:

“Our on-site Research Institute and Clinical Skills Centre has been used by the Royal College for examinations since 2011. At a time when we are celebrating 10 years of our Heart and Lung Services and 70 years of the NHS, it is gratifying to know that our Board is fully focussed on supporting our future NHS doctors.

“We’d like to thank the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow for recognising our ongoing partnership in this way.”

David Galloway said:

“I am delighted to be presenting this award to the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in recognition of our excellent partnership, and would particularly like to thank the Foundation for hosting our clinical examinations.

“Our close relationship continues to be beneficial, from the sharing of resources to partnership working; enabling the exchange of knowledge and understanding between our two brilliant institutions. I look forward to continued success over the years to come.”
