President’s Leadership Lecture with Dr Doyin Atewologun

On 4 March 2020, the College will hold its latest President’s Leadership Lecture. This evening lecture will be delivered by Dr Doyin Atewologun, the Director of the Gender, Leadership and Inclusion Centre at Cranfield School of Management.

On 4 March 2020, the College will hold its latest President’s Leadership Lecture. This evening lecture will be delivered by Dr Doyin Atewologun, the Director of the Gender, Leadership and Inclusion Centre at Cranfield School of Management.

With over 15 years’ experience, Dr Doyin Atewologun is a skilled facilitator, evidence-based consultant, award-winning researcher, qualified executive coach and frequent media speaker. Doyin has worked with many of the FTSE 100, United Nations agencies, legal and other professional services firms, and the UK Civil Service. She is Director at the Gender, Leadership & Inclusion Centre at Cranfield School of Management, UK; and Visiting Fellow at the Lagos Business School, Nigeria and University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Dr Atewologun is currently providing advice to the NHS on an inclusive talent management strategy for NHS directors. With Roger Kline, she led the groundbreaking project for the General Medical Council on the over-representation of minority ethnic doctors in Fitness to Practise referrals. Doyin is Academic Adviser on the Parker Steering Committee led by Sir John Parker into ethnic diversity on FTSE 100 boards as commissioned by the then UK Secretary of State for Business.

She was also lead researcher of the Black British Business Awards’ The Middle Research programme, a collaboration with over 30 blue chip companies committed to progressing minority ethnic talent from middle management into executive positions. Recently, Doyin co-authored a review of the effectiveness of unconscious bias training for the Equalities & Human Rights Commission.

She is a founding member and Deputy Chair of the British Psychology Society’s Diversity and Inclusion at Work Group, a voluntary professional group of academic and practitioner members committed to implementing evidence-based approaches to maximise positive outcomes in diverse workspaces.     

Doyin obtained her PhD from Cranfield School of Management, in which she examined leaders’ multiple, intersectional identities in professional services. Her research has gained several international awards. Prior to her academic career, Doyin worked as Lead Consultant in OPP Ltd, a pan-Europe business psychology consultancy, specialising in assessment and recruitment, talent development, coaching and team building facilitation for nine years. She consulted on, designed and delivered training on fair selection and assessment, competency analysis, self-awareness and psychometrics to reduce bias and increase accuracy in performance measurement.
