Coal mining communities have perhaps the highest level of disability and ill-health of all working class communities in the UK. As part of an ongoing Wellcome Trust funded research project on disability and industrial society the SOHC and the Centre for the Social History of Health and Healthcare will be hosting an oral history witness seminar on the subject of the experience of disability in the Scottish coalfields.
Mining for Memories: Coalfield Disability Witness Seminar, will be held on 28th April at the University of Strathclyde.
