From July 19 to 23, academics, leading experts and policy makers involved in sport and physical education from across the world will be coming to Glasgow for ICSEMIS. We have had submissions to present thoughts and findings on a wide variety of topics relating to sport from over 70 countries so far. Subjects vary across science, education, medicine and sport – e.g. "Technology in sport: How far is too far?", "Athletes’ hearts and the prevention of sudden death in sport" and "From the playground to the podium: the fitness and health of children through sport" to give you a few examples.
ICSEMIS is owned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE). The convention replaces and expands the scope of the former four-yearly Pre-Olympic Congress.
