The College was delighted to be associated with the annual Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) conference, which was held in Glasgow last week for the first time in its history.
ASiT 2015 was the second of two major surgical events in the city on the same week – the first being our own Glasgow Emergency Surgery and Trauma Symposium (GESTS), which was an outstanding, sell out success.
The coincident timing of the two events provided a unique opportunity to bring the surgical community together across trainees and consultants and to engage with 700 enthusiastic and highly motivated young surgeons.
We hosted a drinks reception for over 150 trainees in the College and were also delighted to provide the College as the venue for ASiT’s Council Dinner. President of our College, Dr Frank Dunn, participated in a lively Question Time with the other surgical college presidents during ASiT and all in all it was deemed an extremely worthwhile event to be involved with.
The College expresses congratulations to all involved, and is delighted to have delivered such a successful surgical meeting and to have supported ASiT in bringing their excellent annual conference to Glasgow.
