College Responds to the Autumn Statement
18 Nov 2022
“We welcome the publication of an independently verified NHS wide workforce plan over the next 5, 10 and 15 years early in the new year. This is something that our College and others have been engaged with for some time, so it is pleasing to see our efforts have been successful.”

Commenting on the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s Autumn Statement, President Mike McKirdy said:
“We welcome the publication of an independently verified NHS wide workforce plan over the next 5, 10 and 15 years early in the new year. This is something that our College and others have been engaged with for some time, so it is pleasing to see our efforts have been successful.
Protecting core resources with £3.3bn pounds of additional funding will assist our NHS in coping with the inflationary pressures everyone is facing currently and the resultant funding to devolved nations will allow them to do the same.
As ever, we will continue to play our part in constructive dialogue with the UK Government for the benefit of our Fellows and Members.”
