MD Surgery Examination in Sri Lanka

The College has signed an agreement with the College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka around the MD Surgery Examination.
The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) around the MD Surgery Examination in Colombo.
The MoU marks the growing relationship between the two Colleges; both institutions recognise the value of working together to develop postgraduate surgical training and continuous professional development. The College Presidents, Professor MD Lamawansa, College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka, and Professor David Galloway, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, will announce this initiative today (Friday 15 December) at an event in Colombo. Professor Galloway will be joining by video link.
The MD Surgery Examination, which is conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine University of Colombo was recently reviewed and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow is now pleased to offer the award of Membership of our College to eligible graduates of the MD Surgery Examination.
Over the next five years the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow will participate in examining and quality assurance for the MD Surgery Examination. The College is looking forward to working in partnership with the College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka to the mutual benefit of both organisations and to extending its international community.
