BMA COVID-19 memorial for Healthcare Workers – 15 September
09 Sep 2020
We would encourage all members of our College community to take part in observing a minute’s silence on Tuesday 15th September for those who put their health at risk, caring for patients during the worst of COVID-19.

At this year’s Annual Representative Meeting (Tuesday 15th September) the BMA will be holding a virtual memorial ceremony to remember all healthcare workers that have tragically died in the UK during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The memorial will include the playing of an original score by the London Symphony Orchestra, a piece specially composed to commemorate those who have died during the pandemic. Following this rendition, a minute’s silence will be observed. The BMA hopes that this minute’s silence will be observed by individuals and organisations across health and care settings and encourages them to do so. The ceremony will begin at 10.45am with the minute silence observed at 11.00am on Tuesday 15 September.
The memorial will be broadcast online and will also be an opportunity for us to thank all healthcare workers across the UK for the sacrifices they have made during the pandemic. We would encourage all members of our College community to take part in observing this minute’s silence, for those who put their health at risk, caring for patients during the worst of COVID-19.
The College will share more details of the event shortly when available, including a link to a livestream of the ceremony.
