Internationally recognised postnominals
MRCP(Glasg) is a GMC acceptable post graduate qualification.
MRCPS(Glasg) is not a GMC acceptable postgraduate qualification.

To be eligible to use a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow postnominal, you must retain your membership.

Sponsors must be Fellows in good standing from this College. If you are unable to provide sponsor(s) who are current Fellows of this College, please refer to our regional and international advisors who may be able to assist.

Fellow
Fellowship of the College is offered to physicians who, in the opinion of College, have made substantial contributions to their specialty, or who are senior members of the medical profession and whose published works and attainments are of such distinction as to justify election.
Any physician who has MRCP(UK) and holds a substantive consultant post, or equivalent, is eligible to be proposed for fellowship. Please note locum consultants are not eligible for fellowship, as these posts are not considered as substantive.
Specialty doctors who have an appropriate UK qualification, experience and / or are on the GMC's Specialist Register may also be considered for fellowship. Please note all UK based applicants must be on the GMC specialist register to apply.
For existing Members seeking elevation to fellowship, a minimum of 4 years consecutive membership of this College is expected before nomination.
Sponsors
Current Members, Fellows of other UK/Irish Royal Colleges of Physicians or Surgeons and/or holders of the MRCP(UK) diploma require one sponsor. All other applicants are required to submit two sponsors.
Sponsors must be Fellows in good standing from this College, one of whom should provide a brief statement in support of your application. If you are unable to provide sponsor(s) who are current Fellows of this College, please refer to our regional and international advisors who may be able to assist.
