Biography
Dr Oliver Koch DPhil FRCP FFTM is an Infectious Diseases & General Internal Medicine physician. He is currently a consultant at the Regional Infectious Diseases Unit (Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, UK) and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.
After graduating from the University of Witten / Herdecke Medical School (Germany) in 1999 he undertook research focussed on genetic susceptibility to malaria and malaria parasite genetics at the University of Oxford. He completed his clinical training in Nottingham, London and Oxford with periods overseas in Thailand and Cambodia as part of a clinical fellowship. Since 2013 he has worked as a clinical consultant in Infectious Diseases for NHS Lothian. He has a particular interest in tuberculosis, travel & tropical medicine.
