Biography
Adrian is founder of STC Expeditions, a niche educational travel company based in Exeter specialising in school expeditions and educational adventures around the world. He is a passionate advocate of responsible tourism and ethical travel and has spoken on the subject at the Royal Geographical Society, The Festival of Education and the Geographical Association conference. In 2017, STC Expeditions (www.thestc.co.uk) was the first UK company to become Travelife Certified – a certificate recognised worldwide as showing Excellence in Sustainability.
From 2012 to 2014 he sat on the National Council for the Young Explorers’ Trust, a youth exploration charity and is currently on the South West regional committee for the Royal Geographical Society. He is a trainer for the Off-Site Safety Management Course and, completely unrelated, has a degree in Exercise Science from Birmingham University. Adrian has lectured on the ethics of expeditions for the Diploma in Expedition Medicine since 2017. When not planned expeditions or lecturing on the ethics of travel you can usually find him falling off surfboards and mountain bikes in sunny Devon.
