Jonty Mills

Jonty has loved mountains and wild places since he was a boy. Having climbed in many parts of the world, home is now the beautiful Scottish Highlands. Still as enthusiastic as ever for the mountains, he now enjoys helping others to discover them. He is a qualified Mountaineering & Climbing Instructor, UIMLA International Mountain Leader and holds the UIAA Diploma in Mountain Medicine.

He runs his own mountaineering company-On High Hills-as well as working for other providers. He studied Medicine at Cambridge University, where a particular interest in infectious and tropical diseases was sparked. This led, via the usual junior rotations, to study for a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and hands-on experience in East Africa. This was followed by UK specialty training in Medical Microbiology & Virology, and medical work now is as a Locum Consultant Medical Microbiologist.

It is also worth remembering that he is passionate about curry, the promise of which can usually persuade him to do most things!
