Biography
Having been an anaesthetist for over 20 years, I now work part time in Emergency Medicine. I started walking/climbing as a teenager and have worked and travelled extensively since. I work at the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven and live in Kendal.
Work: Bangladesh, Nepal, Zimbabwe, Mnt Hutt ski field in New Zealand.
Kayak: UK, Europe, Greenland, South Africa, Okavango delta, New Zealand.
Trekking: Kalahari, Namib, Nepal, New Zealand, Europe.
Running: Lakes 50, St Bega Ultra, Tour of Arran, Rat Race Across Scotland.
I have been an active mountain rescue doctor for over 25 years and been involved in every aspect of rescue from the technical to the long searches.
