Jim Woodburn is Professor of Rehabilitation and Assistant Vice Principal, Research Excellence at Glasgow Caledonian University. He holds an honorary clinical post with NHS Lanarkshire. Jim was trained in podiatry, biomechanics and arthritis in Edinburgh, Leeds and the National Institutes of Health and University of Pennsylvania in the USA. He is a clinician scientist with a major interest in diabetes and rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases of the foot and ankle. He was appointed Professor of Rehabilitation at Glasgow Caledonian University in 2006 and leads an interdisciplinary research group of allied health professionals, biomedical engineers, and health services researchers. He is a past recipient of MRC Clinical Training and Clinician Scientist Fellowships. Professor Woodburn was the 2009 British Health Professionals in Rheumatology Droitwich Lecturer in recognition of his outstanding contribution to rheumatology and health professional working. He has published over 150 papers.
