Biography
Andrew Gallagher B.Sc (Hons), MB ChB, FRCP graduated from the University of Glasgow School of Medicine and was appointed as Consultant Physician in Internal Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology in 1996. He currently works at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and has a major role in overseeing Diabetes Service Provision in the Western Isles.
He is a full time clinician with sub-specialty interest in Diabetes & Pregnancy and Mineral Metabolism.
He is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Glasgow School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing having served on a number of University Committees concerned with Admission, Education and Examination.
Important managerial roles have included lead clinician for the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Diabetes Managed Clinical Network, representing the Health Board at Governmental level.
Within the College he has served as examiner in MRCP PACES and FRCP Ophth, Director of Medical Education and Ordinary Councillor.
