Biography
Mr Tabish Umer Chawla is a graduate of Punjab Medical College. He obtained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1995 and thereafter gained experience in General Surgery focusing on GI Surgical Oncology in addition to routine General Surgical procedures.
Mr Chawla was appointed Head of General Surgery Section in December 2015 and has a wide range of academic, scholarly and clinical responsibilities.
Part of Mr Chawla’s job is to lead the section to the new era of innovation and modernisation in terms of skills, equipment and management approaches. Mr Chawla also held positions such as Director University Internship Program, Chairman PGME (Post Graduate Medical Education) Induction committee for Interns, resident and fellows, & Chairman “Hospital Tissue Committee” at Aga Khan University Hospital Karachi.
His other contributions include conducting many workshops, teaching programs and published papers in reputable journals.
