Dr. Sanjay Kumar Jain after completing his graduation and post-graduation from Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal (India) embarked on his surgical career as a Registrar in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal where he played a pivotal role in introducing open-heart surgery to the institution. Subsequently, he transitioned to the Department of Surgery to pursue his passion for teaching and training. Over the years, he undertook various assignments, steadily progressing to the position of Professor and Head of the Surgery Unit at Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal. Throughout his illustrious career, he has overseen numerous research projects and made substantial contributions to various national and international journals. Additionally, he has served as an examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate examinations at various universities across the country.

Dr. Jain currently holds the esteemed position of President of the Association of Surgeons of India. This remarkable achievement solidifies his historical legacy as the first individual to have served in all administrative capacities within the association, ranging from Joint Secretary to the esteemed President's post. Beyond this, he also serves as the Vice President of the SAARC Surgical Care Society and as the President of the Organized Medicine Academic Guild of India. Furthermore, he represents India as the current international advisor to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. In recognition of his expertise and contributions, he has been honored with an Honorary Fellowship by The College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka.

Dr. Jain's erudition and expertise have been widely recognized through numerous prestigious orations and guest lectures at various national and international conferences.

On the social front, Dr. Jain has been an active member of Lions Clubs International for over three decades, holding various leadership positions. He has been conferred with the "International President’s Certificate of Appreciation" and the "Every Day Hero" award. Dr. Jain's unwavering commitment to his profession and his leadership prowess are widely respected.

In addition to his professional memberships in ASI, IACTS, IAGES, ABSI, ACRSI, ATVSI, and ASOMA, Dr. Jain also nurtures a strong interest in training and motivating surgical undergraduates and postgraduates, helping them develop basic surgical skills, leadership qualities, and achieve excellence in the field.

In his role as the Regional Advisor of the College, he actively works to promote the college's activities.
