Abhay N Datarkar

Dr Abhay N Datarkar completed his BDS and MDS in the subject of oral and maxillofacial surgery from Government Dental College and hospital Nagpur, India He is one of the first to clear DNB in Central India in 2003.He got the Gold medal during post graduation by Nagpur University and was also the Best student award winner of the Nagpur University in 1998.Recently he is awarded as the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon of the year 2013.Dr Datarkar is recipient of Fellowship from Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons Glasgow UK.

He has done his Fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at Nation wide Children’s Hospital Columbus Ohio State University. He is also recipient of Young Achievers Award by Academy of Medical Sciences Nagpur. Maharashtra University of Health Sciences awarded Best Teacher Award to him amongst the Faculty of Dentistry in 2016. He is an orator par excellence and delivered many Key note & Guest lectures at International & National forums on various topics of Cranio-maxillofacial surgery. He has authored a book on Exodontia Practice, which is one of the best sellers in India and Abroad. He has 50 International and 68 National publications to his credit in various journals of maxillofacial, plastic, cleft and Implantlogy. He is on editorial board of many International journals and also Associate Editor of Journal of Maxillofacial &Oral Surgery. He is the recipient of Travelling Fellowship of Department of Science & Technology Govt of India under the scheme of Science and Engineering Research Board for his research on Cleft lip and palate surgery. He has One Patent and two Copyrights registered with Govt Of India for his innovation in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Abhay Datarkar has strived over many years to raise the profile and standard of the dentistry and maxillofacial surgery specialty and has trained numerous young surgeons. He has also trained the general dental practitioners for Implantology training in India. He is catering the people of Central India the maxillofacial surgical procedures like Maxillofacial Trauma, Jawtumor surgery, Orthognathicsurgery, Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery, Oral Malignancies, TMJ surgeries and Oral Implantology.

Currently he is working as the Professor and Head Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Govt. Dental College & Hospital Nagpur .He is also nominated as Academic Council Member by Governor of Maharashtra on Academic Council Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nashik.He is on Research Steering Committee and Board of Studies of MUHS Nasik.
