Mark Bailey

Mark is a consultant physician & professor in infectious diseases & tropical medicine at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Warwick Medical School & the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine. He is the lead for travel & tropical medicine in a large & busy infectious diseases unit and gives travel advice on a regular basis for both individuals & groups. He works overseas every few years & sees returning travellers every week as out-patients & in-patients. He organises & teaches on tropical & travel medicine courses for several universities & the Defence Medical Services. He has done expedition medical work in the past & would love to return to this in the future.

Mark is delighted to have been elected as a member of the Faculty of Travel Medicine Executive Board in 2020 & looks forward to seeing how he can best contribute to the work of the Faculty.
