Overview
The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow are pleased to launch the Diagnostics Conference, bringing together experts from across healthcare to explore one of the most rapidly evolving areas of modern medicine.
The landscape of diagnostics is changing rapidly. Technological advances, enhanced data capabilities and new approaches to patient care are transforming how clinicians investigate symptoms, reach diagnoses and manage uncertainty. Against this backdrop, this conference brings together experts from across healthcare to explore the opportunities, challenges and future direction of diagnostics.
Accurate and timely diagnosis is fundamental to patient care yet increasingly relies on collaboration across multiple specialties and services.
Through expert-led presentations, multidisciplinary case discussions and practical insights from clinical, laboratory and digital health experts, this conference will explore how diagnoses are made, challenged and refined in modern healthcare. Delegates will gain a better understanding of the contributions of radiology, pathology, biochemistry, metabolic medicine and genomics; examine the realities of artificial intelligence and virtual care; learn from complex diagnostic cases; and explore how cognitive bias, human factors and system design influence clinical decision-making.
The programme will provide practical learning that can be applied immediately to improve diagnostic pathways, patient safety and clinical outcomes
By bringing together expertise from across the medical and surgical professions, the conference aims to promote diagnostic excellence, encourage multidisciplinary collaboration and inspire innovative approaches to one of healthcare's most fundamental responsibilities: making the right diagnosis at the right time
Who is this conference for?
The conference is aimed at consultants, SAS doctors, specialty and foundation trainees, advanced practitioners, specialist nurses, clinical scientists and allied health professionals involved in the assessment, investigation and management of patients with diagnostic uncertainty.
