Shaw Paterson, Lay Advisor
Shaw is a serving parish minister who has previously held the position of Presbytery Clerk on a part-time basis, alongside a number of convenorships at both local and national levels. He was recently elected as the first Moderator of the newly formed Presbytery of Forth Valley and Clydesdale, reflecting his longstanding commitment to the life and governance of the Church.
Shaw has also contributed to wider professional interests, serving as a member of the Advisory Panel to The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (Scotland) from 2004 to 2007. Throughout more than 30 years in post, he has been extensively involved in the training and supervision of students and oversaw the study leave programme for many years. His dedication to continuing professional development is demonstrated through his Masters in Palliative Care from the University of Glasgow and his Doctorate in Practical Theology, also from Glasgow, where his thesis explored how parish ministers and other pastoral caregivers can better support women who have experienced early miscarriage.
