Professor Chitta Chowdhury PhD, MPH, FFDRCS, MFDS RCPSG, FRSPH, BDS and DND, trained in dentistry before completing doctoral and post-doctoral research, and now supervises PhD students in the United Kingdom and abroad. He is Academic Dean and Dissertation Lead at the University of Bolton City of London Dental School and is actively involved in developing the University Alliance Initiative and the British Academy of Oral Biology and Clinical Dentistry.
He previously founded the Nitte University Department of Oral Biology and Genomics, the Indian Academy of Oral Biology, and served as president of the UK Institute of Health Promotion and Education. An examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he has written seven books, including the Handbook of Oral Cancer Screening and Education, and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
He divides his time between the United Kingdom, India and Japan for clinical work, education and research.
