Ms Sheryl Braidwood qualified in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Podiatry from Glasgow Caledonian University and has established her career in Glasgow, working in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and the independent sector.
Having held specialist and advanced practice posts in practice education, nail surgery and foot protection, she has developed a specialist interest in vascular disease of the lower limb. She has been involved in the set-up and ongoing success of a virtual multidisciplinary diabetic foot disease team, involving colleagues from endocrinology, infectious diseases, vascular surgery and orthopaedic surgery. She is involved in national steering groups for vascular disease assessment, prevention and management by podiatrists.
With a development focus around clinical specialism, she has completed postgraduate education in prescribing and a Postgraduate Diploma in Podiatric Medicine. She has a keen interest in developing colleagues and has mentored and supported a number of podiatrists to help them succeed in their careers.
