Martin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants (CIPFA) and a Past Chair of CIPFA in Scotland. Martin is currently Chief Financial Officer for the learning disability Charity Enable after retiring as Executive Director of Finance for Glasgow City Council.
After completing his BA in Accountancy and obtaining an MBA, Martin's career spanned both the Private and Public Sector and culminated in him being awarded Finance Professional of the Year by CIPFA Scotland in 2024. Martin was appointed as a trustee of the College in 2025 and also Chairs the Audit and Risk Committee. In addition Martin is also a trustee of Glasgow Kelvin College and a Non Executive Director of Ferguson Marine.
