Dr George Kassianos

Dr George Kassianos is a Greek Cypriot. With a scholarship, he graduated with Honours at the Medical Academy of Lodz in Poland. He trained as a General Practitioner at the London Hammersmith and St. Mary’s Hospitals. He retired from the Practice in 2017 after 38 years of service.

He is the National Immunisation Lead for the Royal College of GPs and President & Fellow of the British Global & Travel Health Association.

Dr Kassianos is a Fellow of the RCPSG Faculty of Travel Medicine, the British & Irish Hypertension Society, the European Society of Cardiology, and the International Society of Travel Medicine. He chairs the RAISE Pan-European group (20 countries) of experts in influenza and is a member of the Board of the European Scientific Working Group on Influenza (ESWI).

Dr Kassianos is the 36th recipient of the Royal College of General Practitioners’ Foundation Council Award (2018).

Her Majesty the Queen appointed Dr Kassianos Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2020.
