Overview

The Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) is a speciality membership diploma that allows dental surgeons to demonstrate their expertise in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment. 

Award of the MOrth diploma demonstrates an understanding of diagnosis and treatment planning over a wide range of problems in orthodontics, together with a high level of expertise in carrying out orthodontic treatment.

This assessment is managed through a collaboration between the dental faculties of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

  • In the UK, the Royal College of Surgeons of England delivers these examinations on behalf of both faculties.
  • Internationally, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow delivers these examinations in Chennai, India.

Membership of the College

If you take the M(Orth) exam internationally, you will be eligible to join our College, once successful. If you take the exam in the UK, you may opt to join our College or the English College, once successful.

Successful candidates who join our College can use the postnominal M(Orth) RCPS(Glasg). In joining us, you will be part of a growing membership committed to ensuring high standards of dentistry practice through assessment and continuing professional development.

  • The Colleges may either cancel an examination centre if there are insufficient candidates or restrict numbers should this be necessary.

Follow these steps to book your Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) international exam through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow:

  1. Create or log in to your College account
    – Register through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow online portal.
  2. Select Membership in Orthodontics from available examinations
    – Choose the exam diet you wish to apply for from the list above and click 'Apply now' to be taken to the online portal login page. Enter your email and password to begin your application.
  3. Submit your application
    – Complete all required fields and upload any supporting documents.
  4. Make payment
    – Pay the exam fee securely online.
  5. Confirmation
    – You will receive a confirmation email and further instructions once your application has been processed.
