Dr Harunor Rashid is a Clinical Associate Professor in the specialty of Child and Adolescent Health at the Faculty of Medicine and Health, the University of Sydney, Australia. He undertook paediatric and tropical medicine training in Bangladesh, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, ultimately receiving a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of London in 2009. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Travel Medicine at the College, and also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London.
Dr Rashid is an active Member of the International Society of Travel Medicine, where he chairs the Mass Gathering Medicine Interest Group and serves on the Research and Awards Committee. He is also Section Editor for Mass Gatherings at the Journal of Travel Medicine. He is a Member of the Sydney Infectious Diseases Institute and co-led its Mass Gathering Medicine Node. In addition, he serves as a Strategic Advisory Network Member for Infection Prevention and Control within the Mass Gathering Collaboration at Griffith University, Gold Coast, Australia.
He is also an active Member of the Asia-Pacific Alliance for the Control of Influenza and the Immunisation Coalition, Australia.
