Overview
The Lister Institute Research Prize gives scientists the opportunity to develop their potential with £300,000 of flexible funding over a five-year period.
This year they are proud to award the Prizes to eight outstanding scientists.
They aim to award prizes based on:
- Originality and quality of the proposed research.
- Achievements of the applicant in the context of their own circumstances.
- Transformational impact that the Prize would have on the recipient’s career, considering their research environment and other funding.
Other than the provision or augmentation of personal salary, the Prize fund may be used to support the applicant’s research, including expenditure on equipment, travel, consumables or the salaries of post-doctoral workers, technicians, PhD students, or for a replacement lecturer.
As well as receiving the flexible award the Lister Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to join the Lister community. This community is made up of a network of successful researchers across many scientific disciplines at different stages of their career. We gather annually at the Fellows meeting and the Institute also runs an informal mentorship programme.
