Specialty Certificate Examinations (SCEs) are a postgraduate qualification administered by the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK. Their aim is to offer physicians a way of demonstrating to prospective employers they have the necessary knowledge and skills to hold a specialty post.
These exams are now a compulsory part of a Certificate for Completion of Training (CCT) for all UK-based trainees pursuing a career in the following specialties:
- Acute Medicine
- Dermatology
- Endocrinology and Diabetes
- European Specialty Examination in Gastroenterology and Hepatology (ESEGH)
- Geriatric Medicine
- Medical Oncology
- European Specialty Examination in Nephrology (ESENeph)
- Neurology
- Palliative Medicine
- Respiratory Medicine
- Rheumatology
