We are inviting applications for additional members of the College RDC throughout the UK to enhance our existing Committee.
The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow is a worldwide community of inspiring health professionals working together to advance the profession and improve patient care. Together we’re a force for good, determined to make a positive difference, and passionate about speaking up for the profession.
Our community is made up of the expertise and experience of our 15,000+ outstanding, hardworking members, supported by over 100 College staff.
With care and compassion at our core, our work is guided by our values of inclusivity, integrity, community, innovation, and inspiring, and we are committed to living these values and behaviours through the way we work and interact with each other.
As a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, you are already part of a growing community, who are passionate about patient care, and are leading and influencing the future of our profession.
Our RDC members are ambassadors who help promote the unique values of our College, and are able to explain who we are, what we stand for and what we do to a new generation of resident doctors across the UK and Ireland.
The Resident Doctors' Committee is comprised of medical students, foundation doctors and medical and surgical resident doctors covering all stages of training – including those not currently within a training programme.
The committee meets four times a year at the College. It is often joined by the President or Vice Presidents, and senior representatives from our Education and Membership departments.
The RDC is strong and proactive with a motivated membership drawn from all grades across the specialty spectrum.
Committee members work hard to engage with a multitude of bodies, committees and individuals in order to promote resident doctors' interests across a wide range of issues and domains.
Joining the RDC is a great opportunity to become actively involved in the College and to help shape the future of medicine.
We are keen that our RDC Committee Members are as diverse as possible, and we hope to attract applications from underrepresented groups, including Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) people; people with disabilities; LGBT+ people; people with gender diverse identities; and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
Application is by submission of application form. Completed application and Equal Opportunities forms should be returned by email to traineescommittee@rcpsg.ac.uk by 30 October 2026.
