"It is with great sadness that I share the news that Anne Marie McKirdy has died.
"Anne Marie was a much-loved friend of the College and a brilliant radiologist. We will remember her for her friendship, her warmth, and her support for both our College and her husband Mike during his presidency.
"Anne Marie passed away peacefully on Tuesday (26 August 2025) at the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice. To fit with traditions of her beloved Barra, her funeral arrangements have been made rapidly. Her body will be received into St Andrew’s Cathedral, Clyde Street, Glasgow at 7.30pm on Wednesday 27 August and her Requiem Mass will be 10am on Thursday (28 August). Thereafter, Anne Marie’s body will be taken home to the Isle of Barra.
