The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow is delighted to announce that we will be running the first UK delivery of the PACES23 exam format at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary on 29 September 2023. Our dedicated exam team is working hard to prepare for the exam and we are very much looking forward to welcoming candidates to the Dumfries centre.

Throughout the autumn of 2023, we will also be delivering the exam diet at various centres across the UK.

The new PACES23 format of the examination tests the same clinical skills, and there are still five stations. However, some of the encounters have changed. The changes in the new carousel have been implemented to improve the validity and reliability of this clinical examination. Detailed information on the format is available on the MRCP(UK) website.

There are several online resources on offer to help candidates and examiners prepare for the exam in its new format, which can be found on:

To further help candidates get the best out of the exam, our College also provides an online preparation course, which can be found at MRCP(UK) PACES23: Online Preparation.

We warmly wish all PACES candidates every success in the upcoming diet.
