Royal College launches survey on assisted dying legislation

The College has launched a new survey which invites UK-based Fellows and Members to share their views on the practicalities of the McArthur Bill and the Leadbeater Bill.

Published: 26 September 2025

The College has commissioned the Diffley Partnership to conduct an independent survey on assisted dying legislation making its way through the Scottish and UK parliaments. This has been sent to all UK-based Fellows and Members today (Friday 26 September) via email.

While the College has a neutral stance on assisted dying, we would like to better understand Fellows and Members’ views on the practicalities of the legislation. The survey does not ask for views on the principle of assisted dying and does not require extensive familiarity with the legislation.

The survey should take no more than 10 minutes of your time to complete, and answers will be treated with complete confidentiality.

Please look out for an email inviting you to complete the survey from the Diffley Partnership.
