Medical Training Initiative (MTI)

Learn about the Medical Training Initiative (MTI) offered by the Federation of Medical Royal Colleges.

Medical Training Initiative 

The Medical Training Initiative is designed to support international medical graduates (IMGs) who come to the UK for short-term training opportunities. They then return to their home countries to implement that newly acquired knowledge in the development of local health services. 

Suitably qualified International Medical Graduate doctors (IMG) can receive a maximum of two years training and development in the NHS. The knowledge, skills and techniques learned in that time can be used to improve patient care in their home country on their return.
