Overview
We’re delighted to invite you to our celebration at the College on Monday 2 March 2026 ahead of International Women’s Day (8 March 2026).
Our celebration is open to all. We hope you’ll come along for this special evening event which will bring together Fellows, Members and friends to recognise the impact and collective strength of all women.
The theme of International Women’s Day for 2026 highlights that 'when we give, we gain'.
In honour of Give to Gain, we are partnering with Dress for Success Scotland, a charity which supports women into a career by providing professional clothing, a network of support and personal skills to help them thrive in work as well as in life. We encourage you to bring along any pre-loved workwear you’d like to give as part of our College donation.
Tickets are priced at £45 and include an arrival drink and two-course dinner. View the full programme.
We’re pleased that Lord-Lieutenant Jill Young MBE will join us to deliver a talk on empowering women into leadership. Jill will discuss her personal journey from a lifetime career in the NHS to representing the Crown as HM Lord-Lieutenant.
The venue
The International Women’s Day Celebration will take place in the Princess Alexandra Room, one of the College’s most historic and elegant spaces.
The room is named after Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra of Kent, who became the College's first Royal Honorary Fellow in 1959, and whose portrait hangs to the east of the room. The Princess Alexandra Room has hosted many important historical meetings, including when Sir Joseph Lister first presented his work on antiseptic surgery and changed the future of medicine.
